Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. - CBSSports.com (NYSE: CBS) said on Thursday that its NCAA March Madness on Demand video player served 3.4 million hours of live streaming to 3 million unique visitors during the first day of the NCAA Division I men's basketball championship on Wednesday.

Comcast to Offer 3D Broadcast of The Masters on TV, Web

Los Angeles - Comcast (NASD: CMCSA) plans to offer a 3D broadcast of the upcoming 2010 Masters golf tournament, which it was announced today will feature the return of Tiger Woods. The Comcast 3D feed will be available on 3D-enabled televisions and computers from a dedicated cable channel and the Masters.com website. About two hours per day of 3D coverage will be broadcast from the tournament, which runs April 8-11.

NFL Dumps Sprint for Verizon; Plans Mobile RedZone Channel

New York - The National Football League (NFL) announced on Tuesday that it has signed a new four-year agreement with Verizon Wireless (NYSE: VZ) to handle its mobile services, replacing former partner Sprint (NYSE: S), which had held the contract for the past five years. The Wall Street Journal pegged the value of the deal at $720 million.

Hulu Adds Content From NFL Films

Sunnyvale, Calif. - Yahoo (NASD: YHOO) said on Friday that Yahoo Sports was the most visited online destination in the U.S. for the recent  Winter Olympics, according to figures from comScore. The site attracted 32 million unique visitors from Feb. 12-28, compared with 19 million each for NBCOlympics.com and ESPN. Yahoo said that visitors spent 314 million total minutes on the site during the games.

Speaking from the headquarters of the U.S. PGA Tour in Florida, Woods was apologetic and said he plans to return to the game -- perhaps as early as this year.

"We have to make 'Madden' more accessible," EA Sports president Peter Moore told Bloomberg. "You'll see us on Facebook going forward." Moore called the Facebook version of the game, which does not yet have a release date, a "simpler experience" than playing on a console.

London - Professional soccer club Manchester United, a team within the English Premier League, has imposed a ban on social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter for its players, according to reports. The reports indicate that a Facebook account for Man U player Wes Brown was taken down, while the "Walls" of profiles for Ryan Giggs and Rio Ferdinand were wiped clean. Twitter accounts purported to be operated by Man U players Wayne Rooney, Ryan Giggs and Darren Fletcher are no longer online.
