Dulles, Va. – VeriSign, the Dulles-based provider of Internet infrastructure services, has named John Calys as its interim chief financial officer, more than two weeks after announcing the resignation of CFO Brian Robins.

Calys has served as the company’s vice president and controller since December, and will continue in these roles. He previously served as the vice president and controller of XO Holdings, as well as the vice president and assistant treasurer of Sprint Nextel and vice president and assistant controller of Nextel Communications.

Robins, who will remain through the end of this month, originally joined the company in 2007, then was promoted to acting CFO in 2008 and CFO in Aug. 2009. He is departing to “pursue new opportunities outside of Verisign,” the company said.
