Milpitas, Calif. – SanDisk (NASD: SNDK), the large maker of flash memory
cards, digital media players and USB flash drives, on Thursday announced that
Eli Harari, its founder, chairman and CEO, will retire on Dec. 31 following 22
years at the helm. He will then continue in an advisory role for two years. The
company has named Sanjay Mehrotra, currently president and COO, to take over as
president and COO, beginning Jan. 1. Michael Marks, a member of the SanDisk
Board since 2003, will assume the role of chairman. Marks is the president of
Riverwood Capital and formerly the CEO of Flextronics.
