Palo Alto, Calif.
– Mobile entertainment distributor mSpot on Wednesday
introduced a cloud-based mobile music service, which allows users to upload
their collections to a locker and stream songs from various devices — and
provided 500 invites to the private beta to Digital Media Wire readers.

The
service can upload and sync songs to the cloud in the background, and transpose
playlists, album art, ratings and song information users created in iTunes or
Windows Media Player.

The service is initially available on Google
Android-powered handsets, but will expand to all smartphones in the coming year.

An as-yet-undetermined amount of storage will be offered for free, while mSpot
said it will charge $2.99 per month for 10GB and $4.99 per month for 20GB of
storage.

While the service is not scheduled to become available publicly
until June, mSpot provided Digital Media Wire readers with 500 private beta
invites. Visit www.mspot.com
and enter the
code "digitalmediawire".
