New York
– User-generated gadget reviews site gdgt has raised $3.165 in a round of new
funding led by Spark Capital and True Ventures, The Wall Street Journal
reported.

Previous backers Betaworks, AOL Ventures, Lerer Media Ventures, and a
number of individual investors also participated in the round.

New York-based
gdgt was founded by the co-creators of respected gadget blogs Gizmodo and
Engadget, Pete Rojas and Ryan Block.

Block told The Journal that gdgt counts
"hundreds of thousands" of registered users, and catalogs nearly
17,000 gadgets.

The Journal also notes that Rojas has left the digital music
site he created, RCRD LBL, but remains on the board.
