PC Magazine reports "The effort follows Facebook's $2 billion acquisition of VR firm Oculus VR last year. It isn't too much of a surprise, given that Facebook's Chief Product Officer Chris Cox in February said the company has been playing around with VR app creation. Variety reports "Snapchat now claims to serve an average of 4 billion daily video views — doubling its video traffic in the past three months. The number, first reported by IBTimes and confirmed by Snapchat, comprises Live Stories shared by other users and media company accounts in a person’s feed (excluding private messages and Snapchat Discover, its separate section which currently features 15 content partners). Fortune reports "Facebook has snapped up at least five companies in the virtual reality/augmented reality space, including Oculus, maker of the Cadillac of VR goggles, for $2 billion last summer. Google’s Cardboard, a fold-out kit for turning any Android smartphone into a crude VR headset, is already on version 2.0. Streamdaily.tv reports "U.S. ad agencies are warming up to the idea of advertising on streaming and online video, reports Strata, a Chicago-based company that develops software for media buyers. According to a survey conducted by Strata that polled 85 agencies of various sizes across the U.S., there’s a 66% increase in interest in advertising on streaming and online video during second quarter 2015 over the same period in 2014.".
