Agencies tell us which video platform they believe is best for brands

According to recent data from video analytics firm Tubular Labs, 15 percent of the top 100 videos on YouTube in June came from brands. This far outstripped rivals like Facebook and Vine, both of which only had one branded video in their respective top 100. Variety reports "James Veraldi, a founding exec of multichannel network Fullscreen, has joined Snapchat as head of strategy and partnerships for the social service’s recently launched Discover media initiative, Varietyhas learned. Veraldi, who joined Snapchat about a month ago, works on strategy and partnerships for Discover, a company rep confirmed. He reports to head of media Nick Bell. It wants to be able to access the sensor information on your phone so it can determine whether you’re walking, running or standing still. It wants to know your GPS coordinates, grab photos from your phone and look through your contacts too. Global Video Service Viki Buys Soompi, A Fan Site For Korean Dramas, In Sub-$10M Deal

TechCrunch reports "Viki, the global video site owned by Japan’s Rakuten, has made an acquisition of its own after it snapped up Soompi, an English-language news and fan site dedicated to Korean cinema and dramas, for “less than $10 million”. The Hollywood Reporter reports "National CineMedia has inked a deal to become the first U.S.-based licensed user for Movio’s new Movio Media market research platform. Movio’s flagship product, Movio Cinema, holds marketing data covering an estimated 21 percent of cinema screens worldwide (15,970 screens). The newly released iteration of Movio Media was created to analyze data, and will be employed across NCM’s in-theater network that offers its FirstLook pre-show.
