Baltimore –, the Baltimore-based online ad business of AOL, said it has acquired Silicon Valley-based Buysight, a developer of technology that uses online behavioral data to connect consumers and advertisers in real-time.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Ned Brody, the CEO of AOL’s group – which also includes brands such as AdTech, the AOL On Network, goviral and Pictela – said the acquisition will strengthen the unit’s premium product offering and bolster its position in the performance display market.

“The acquisition… will further enhance AdLearn, our market-leading optimization engine, and its ability to provide brands and performance marketers a comprehensive and integrated optimization solution across channels,” wrote Brody in a blog post.
