Mountain View, Calif. - Google this week announced a deal with film financiers Media Rights Capital ("Babel," "Sleuth"), to produce original Web content that will be distributed as free, ad-supported streams through Google's AdSense network.

The agreement comes in the same week that Google announced plans to shutter its paid and rental online video service.

The deal with MRC includes productions from "Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane, and Disney Channel personality Raven-Symone.

Google and MRC will share in revenue generated from advertising.
