Los Angeles - Elevation Partners, the private equity firm whose partners include U2 singer Bono, announced on Wednesday its acquisition of SDI Media Group, a provider of foreign language subtitling and dubbing services for the entertainment industry, from Warburg Pincus.

Financial terms of the deal, expected to close next month, were not disclosed.

Los Angeles-based SDI operates in 29 countries, and employs more than 650 staff and 4,000 freelancers, who localize content in over 60 languages.

"SDI Media plays an important role in facilitating the delivery of content to a growing client base across the globe," said Bret Pearlman, co-founder and managing director of Elevation Partners.

"We believe that SDI Media and its management team will continue to build on its history of technological innovation and industry leadership, and we look forward to working closely with them."
