Senior Development Officer - GuideStar - Washington, DC

We are seeking an experienced, energetic and ambitious Senior Development Officer to plan and implement an integrated program of philanthropic support.

Responsibilities:

•Formulate annual plans and strategies to achieve the fundraising goals of GuideStar that drives the vision of a thriving and integrated development program;
•Identify and engage individuals, corporations, and foundations in an effort to maximize and enhance funding through grants and gifts;
•Lead by example, regularly achieve and exceed monthly benchmarks for identifying, cultivating and managing portfolio of gift prospects at $100,000 and up;
•Work collaboratively with president, board of directors, and senior management;

Qualifications:

•Bachelor’s degree or higher
•At least 4 years of nonprofit fundraising/development experience, preferably with significant foundation fundraising experience;
•At least 4 years direct experience with large donors and major gifts;
•Proven success in planning and organizing fundraising events and donor campaigns;
•The successful candidate must be a strategic thinker, hands-on dynamic leader, and self starter exhibiting excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills;
•Possesses demonstrated management experience, with an ability to recruit and manage a creative high performing and collaborative staff;
•Ability to work in a team-oriented environment ;
•Passionate with a desire to support the mission, vision and core values of GuideStar
