New York - Entertainment Media Works (EMW), a provider of product placement aid for brands and operator of a site that lets consumers purchase items seen on TV and other media, announced that it has raised $4 million in its first round of funding, led by Granite Ventures.

New York-based EMW operates TheLookBook.net, which facilitates product placements for brands and retailers into media content, as well as StarStyle.com, where consumers can search for products seen in their favorite media.

The company said it has partnered with retail brands including Nieman Marcus, Nordstrom and Banana Republic, and with media firms such as ABC, NBC Universal, Fox, Sony Pictures, Warner Bros. Studios and Universal Music Group.

The company will use the funds for further product development.
