Video game publisher Take-Two Interactive said on Tuesday that its founder and former Chairman and CEO Ryan Brant resigned after being on disability leave since June. Brant had been employed in a non-executive capacity as Vice President of Production when he stepped down on Oct. 16, the comapny said in a regulatory filing. Brant founded the company, best known for the controversial and best-selling "Grand Theft Auto" game from its Rockstar Games studio, in 1993. Brant was CEO until February 2001 and chairman until March 2004.

Tvia, a provider of digital display processors for advanced flat-panel TVs, broadcast digital DVRs, consumer displays, and monitor products, today announced the appointment of Keith Yee as its new Chief Financial Officer, replacing Diane Bjorkstrom who is leaving to pursue other opportunities, effective immediately. Prior Yee served as Director of Finance at Atheros Communications, Inc., a publicly-traded developer of semiconductor system solutions for wireless communications products display solutions on the market.

The Board of Directors of Fender Musical Instruments, a manufacturer of guitars, amplifiers and related products, announced the appointment of a new Chairman. The position was recently vacated with the passing of FMIC’s long-time leader Bill Schultz. Last week, the Board unanimously appointed William “Bill” Mendello as Chairman. With this appointment, Mendello will hold the concurrent role of Chairman and CEO. He has been affiliated with Fender and its predecessors since 1971.

Xceive, a maker of transceiver chips used in TVs and set-top boxes, on Tuesday named Michael Seifert as its CFO. Seifert has been the company's interim CFO since February, and prior to that served as the CFO of Virage Logic.

CNET Networks announced yesterday it has appointed David Bernstein as Senior Vice President of Finance and Chief Accounting Officer. Bernstein, who will report to George Mazzotta, the company’s Chief Financial Officer, assumed his duties as of October 16, 2006. Bernstein was previously employed at Adobe.

Lonely Planet, the book and website travel publisher, has appointed Shona Thind as Marketing Director for its EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) business. Thind was previously a marketing manager at Häagen-Dazs. Her employment with Lonely Planet will begin on 18 December.
