THQ Inc. (NASDAQ:THQI) today announced that Tiffany Ternan has been named Vice President of Licensing. In this role, Ternan will manage the company's leading portfolio of externally licensed content, in addition to building opportunities for THQ's owned intellectual properties across other media. Most recently, she served as THQ's Senior Vice President of North American sales.

IMAX Corporation today announced the appointment of studio distribution executive, Peter Eiff, to General Manager - Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Peter joins IMAX from International Film Finance Services, a consulting firm he founded that helped production companies optimize their financing supply chains. Previously, Mr. Eiff was head of television sales and director of worldwide distribution at Lucasfilm Ltd.

Universal Music Group has announced that Gary Marella has been  appointed Senior Vice President, Promotion and Video for Universal Motown. Marella’s duties will include overseeing radio and video promotion for Universal Motown Records. Prior to joining Universal, Mr. Marella worked at Priority Records as a National Crossover Promotion representative.

The MCPS-PRS Alliance announces that Adam Singer, its Chief Executive, has informed the Board of his intention to leave the rights organization. It is expected that he will leave once the imminent Copyright Tribunal hearing is complete. The Tribunal hearing begins on 25 September and is expected to be concluded by 20 October.

Scholastic, the global children's publishing, education and media company, today announced key appointments in the Trade Publishing division: Ellie Berger was named Senior Vice President, Publisher; and Andrea Davis Pinkney was named Vice President, Editor-at-Large. In addition, it was announced that Corinne Helman, Vice President, Business Development is expanding her role in the division. All three executives continue to report to Lisa Holton, President, Book Fairs and Trade, and their new roles are effective immediately.

Macworld, the world's foremost Mac authority in print and on the Web, has announced the appointment of industry veteran Leslie A. Piper to the position of Western Advertising Director. In her new role, Piper will maintain current accounts while growing new business, and also work with clients to create specialized programs to effectively target the Mac audience. Previously she was the Senior Regional Sales Manager for CMO magazine; prior to that she served as the Director of New Business at Doremus Advertising.
