San Francisco - Wired News on Monday published a commentary on how Microsoft's introduction of its Zune digital media player and complementary digital media store will affect its existing "PlaysForSure" partners, who sell MP3 players compatible with Windows Media Audio-based music stores. The piece posits that SanDisk, which now makes the second most-popular MP3 players behind the iPod, will acquire the struggling Napster service and create its own player-service ecosystem to compete with Apple and Microsoft.
