Bill Figenshu, COO of SWMX, will assume an expanded role within the organization – taking over for Charles Omphalius. This will include greater oversight and direction of sales and busines development, client service, marketing and operating administration.

Kay Johansson joins MobiTV as its CTO. Johansson will drive the creation, development and deployment of mobile television technologies on mobile devices and PCs over the broad array of netowrks. Johansson previously served as CTO for Popwire, a former Ericsson company, in Sweden.

Michael Abrams has been promoted to President of Live Nation Studios from Executive Vice President, Product Development. In his new role, Abrams will oversee the previously announced initiative to transform 120 Live Nation venues and festival sites throughout the U.S., Canada and Europe into next generation “wired” studios.

Double Fusion hires Julie Shumaker as Vice President of Worldwide Sales. Shumaker, one of the best-known executives in the in-game advertising industry, will lead the Double Fusion sales team with her signature vision. Previously, Shumaker was EA's National Director of sales, Videogame Advertising.

PhotoWorks®, Inc., an internet based digital photo-publishing company,has named Andy Wood as its new President and CEO, effective August 16, 2006. Wood has held CEO positions for more than 15 years, including two years at Shutterfly.

BreakAway has named Paul Mauritz as its Executive Vice President for Corporate Strategy and General Manager of BreakAway Federal Systems. Mauritz was formerly the Assistant Secretary for Technology and Business Development with the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development. In his new role, he will oversee the company’s serious games business and handle business development, sales, and marketing.

BreakAway has named Lawrence Brenner as its Executive Vice President of Finance and Operations. Brenner is the former CFO of Boulder Ventures. John Stevenson was named publisher of Time For Kids, a weekly newsmagazine in this media company’s Time multimedia brand. Mr. Stevenson, 44, succeeds Jodi Kahn, who left to be president of digital business at Reader’s Digest Association Inc. Mr. Stevenson was director of consumer marketing for InStyle. A succession plan hasn’t been announced.

Yahoo! has hired Peter Daboll as its Chief of Insights and Global Market Research, a newly created position. Daboll will head research at the internet company and will work with the company’s product development, ad sales and marketing teams. Previously, Daboll was CEO of ComScore Media Metrix.

Nielsen Media Research has named Catherine Herkovic to the position of General Manager to head its Local Business Unit, where she will report to Susan D. Whiting, President/CEO. Based in New York, Catherine will be responsible for sales and marketing, production and delivery of data, product services, quality assurance and information technology for the company’s local clients.
