Buzz Watch: Kate Moss and the Birth of the Pornomercial

What do you get if you put a hot supermodel in sexy underwear and let her prance around in a dreamlike four minute erotic online video? Come on, you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure this one out - you get incredible word of mouth as this spreads like wildfire on the Internet. In fact, Agent Provocateur, a British lingerie maker, got such a rush of traffic to their website when they posted this video on Monday that it totally crashed. Welcome to the birth of the Pornomercial!

The film is the first in a four-part series directed by Hollywood filmmaker Mike Figgis, director of "Leaving Las Vegas”, which depicts Kate having dreams in her underwear. The movies, shot in London, mark Kate’s first film speaking role. Figgis said to British Tabloid The Sun: “She was insecure about her voice. But she’s got a nice voice.” Not that most people are going to even notice her voice...

However, Kate Moss has made quite a come-back since her cocaine-snorting pictures were made public and she checked into a rehab clinic. She knows, however, that she will have a hard time to shake off her image as a “bad girl”. So, if you can’t beat them, join them, right? This video might not make her any less controversial, but it does take her one step closer to a starring role in a real movie. So far, her biggest appearance on the screen has been a Sofia Coppola-directed video for the White Stripes, in which she was a lap dancer sliding provocatively - and convincingly - around a pole. I mean, if this many people want to see her online, some studio will come knocking on her door soon.

Until that happens online fans of Kate Moss are holding their breath for the third part of the series of videos, which reportedly has her stripping down naked. Agent Provocateur better start upgrading their host servers.
